The Alphabet of Your URL Bar

Chances are, your web browser has an auto-complete type thing where you type in your URLs. I made up an internet game based on that. Type the alphabet into your URL bar, one letter at a time. Paste the FIRST thing that your browser suggests for each letter, unless it’s too embarrassing, in which case skip it or post how far down you have to go before something’s not too embarrassing. Here’s mine:

A http://www.wireless.att.com/

B http://bloomington.craigslist.org/mis/

C https://www.chase.com/

D http://www.tumblr.com/dashboard

E http://www.engadget.com/

F http://www.flickr.com/photos/hoosierillusion/

G http://gizmodo.com/

H is embarrassing, I’ll skip H. 2nd in line was http://www.last.fm/music/Homecomings

I http://isohunt.com/

J I’ll skip J too. I had to go eight spots down to get this: http://www.fakesteve.net/

K http://karagarga.net/

L http://lifehacker.com/

M I’ll skip M. All sorts of weirdness until six down, gave me this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q9CJarf3iA

N Gonna skip my first N too. Luckily, second was this: http://www.nytimes.com/ I am a good white person.

R http://rjdj.me/music/Mike%20Dixon/

S http://search.twitter.com/

T http://www.tumblr.com/dashboard

U http://umail.iu.edu/

V http://google.com/voice

W http://westernswing78.blogspot.com/

X http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY8Wi7XRXCA

Y http://www.youtube.com/

Z http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZWrVQTlonc#movie_player

4 skips out of the whole alphabet, that’s not too bad. This is pretty revealing though. I’m basically a huge nerd.

I want to see what everyone else’s alphabets look like. No cheating, just skip if it’s something you don’t want to post, or list your alternates (but you have to admit it was an alternate).

As you can see my browser thinks most letters mean I want to check my e-mail. I didn't have to skip any because it mostly showed sites I have visited a LOT (or Greg, when this was his computer).

Ah, they came up as links just fine in my email. There are some good ones there. http://blog.pdcon.org/ is an obvious sign of Greg's use, I can assume. Props for the "B" link going to a Pee Wee Herman video! KarimMovies is kinda puzzling too. Ah, it's a funny time to be alive.
